W Series Universal Worm Gear Reducer
The W Series is the universal-input workhorse of the WP single-stage worm gear reducer family. Its housing carries motor-mounting faces machined on six planes, so the input shaft accepts a belt, chain, or coupling from any of six standard directions (A, S, O, X, T, V) without ordering a different model. This single-SKU versatility makes the W the default choice for plants that want one spares-compatible reducer covering every layout variation. Thirteen frame sizes from WP40 to WP250, ratios of 5:1 to 60:1, and output torques up to 3,025 N·m provide the same broad performance coverage as the fixed-orientation DA and DS models, with the added flexibility of on-site input-angle adjustment.

Retrofit and Maintenance Upgrades
In brownfield facilities — paper mills, steel plants, food factories — replacing a worn reducer often means working around structural steel, piping, and access platforms that constrain the motor position. The W’s universal input lets the fitter rotate the belt-drive pulley to whatever angle clears the obstruction, then bolt the motor to the nearest available surface. No custom bracket, no engineering drawing, no lead time — just rotate and bolt. This is why many maintenance teams stock the W as their default replacement speed reducer gearbox.
OEM Machine Building
Machine builders who sell into diverse end-user environments cannot predict how every customer will position the motor. By standardising on the W Series, the OEM ships one reducer model and lets the installer choose the input angle on site. Housing and Materials
The W housing is a one-piece grey cast-iron universal casting with motor-mounting faces and keyway slots machined on six planes. The output side is a standard solid dual-end shaft with foot pads machined on two perpendicular faces. Internally: 20CrMnTi hardened worm shaft, ZCuSn10Pb1 bronze wheel, tapered roller bearings, double-lipped NBR seals. Every internal part is interchangeable with the DA, DS, KA, and all other WP single-stage models of the same frame size.
Components and Spare Parts
Every wear component inside this reducer is available as an individual spare part from our Condell Park, NSW warehouse, enabling targeted replacement rather than full-unit swap. The W draws from the same parts catalogue as the entire WP single-stage family. One spares inventory covers every variant.

ISO VG 220–320 EP gear oil. Check the oil level relative to the installed input angle — different orientations may shift the sight-glass reference. First change at 100 hours, then every 2,500 hours or annually.
