Description
WD Series — Universal Worm Gear Reducer with Motor Flange
The WD Series combines the multi-angle flexibility of the universal WP housing with the installation speed of an integrated IEC motor flange. The motor bolts directly onto whichever of the six machined flange faces best suits the surrounding structure, eliminating belts, couplings, and alignment procedures while retaining the freedom to reposition the motor angle at any time. Thirteen frame sizes from WP40 to WP250, ratios 5:1 to 60:1, and output torques up to 3,025 N·m make the WD a versatile, coupling-free worm gear reducer for plants that value both direct-motor convenience and layout flexibility.

Practical Benefits
One SKU, Six Motor Angles
Maintenance and MRO teams that stock the WD as their standard replacement speed reducer gearbox can cover every motor position in the plant with a single part number per frame size. When a reducer fails, the replacement WD ships with the motor flange ready on all six faces — the fitter simply bolts the motor onto whichever face matches the existing layout. No coupling, no belt, no alignment, and no risk of ordering the wrong orientation.
Brownfield Retrofit
Upgrading old drives in existing plants is where the WD truly shines. Structural beams, pipes, and cable trays often block the ideal motor position. The WD’s six flange faces let the fitter try different motor angles on the spot until the motor clears every obstruction, then torque the bolts and commission. No engineering drawing, no custom bracket — just practical flexibility.
Performance Data
At 1,500 r/min input, continuous duty. The WD shares identical gear geometry, efficiency, and bearing ratings with all WP single-stage models. contact us for dimensional drawings. Full speed reducer gearbox platform documentation is available.

Universal housing with six IEC motor-flange faces
Engineering and Build
The WD housing is a one-piece grey cast-iron universal casting with B5/B14 IEC motor-flange interfaces machined on six planes. The input bore is finished to h6 tolerance with a parallel keyway. The output is a solid dual-end shaft with foot pads on two perpendicular faces. All internal components — 20CrMnTi worm shaft, ZCuSn10Pb1 bronze wheel, tapered roller bearings, NBR seals — are fully interchangeable with the DA, DS, W, KA, and all other single-stage WP models of the same frame.
Components and Spare Parts
Every wear component inside this reducer is available as an individual spare part from our Condell Park, NSW warehouse, enabling targeted replacement rather than full-unit swap. WD internals are 100 % cross-compatible with the entire WP single-stage family.
Worm Shaft
Case-hardened 20CrMnTi alloy steel, thread-ground Ra 0.8 μm
Worm Wheel
Centrifugally cast ZCuSn10Pb1 tin-bronze, full-depth involute
Bearings
Tapered roller bearings for combined radial and axial loads
Seal & Gasket Kit
Double-lipped NBR seals, gaskets, breather plugs, O-rings
Worm shaft, bronze wheel, bearings, and seal kits — all orderable separately
Customer Reviews
The WD universal-plus-flange is our go-to. Motor bolts straight on, and if we need to rotate the input angle around a pipe or structural member, we just reposition the motor on a different flange face. Genius design.
Chris Munroe
Millwright, Cement Plant
WD WP120 at 30:1 on our sludge-scraper drive. Self-locking, direct motor mount, and the universal input let us avoid a custom motor bracket. Solid unit with easy oil changes.
Amy Nguyen
Process Engineer, Water Treatment
We bulk-order the WD for four sites. One model number, multiple motor angles, no coupling inventory. Spares management is simple and freight costs are lower.

MRO Buyer, Quarry Group
Oil and Maintenance
ISO VG 220–320 EP gear oil. Check the oil level against the sight glass for the installed motor angle — fill quantity varies slightly with orientation. First change at 100 hours, then 2,500 hours or annually.
